New scene images and a summary for the first episode of the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Takako Shimura's manga "Scenes from Awajima" (Japanese: "Awajima Hyakkei") have been released. The series will premiere on April 9 on Japanese television.
The story takes place at the exclusive Awajima Opera School, a place where young girls come together to dream of a career on stage. The anime paints a vivid portrait of their daily lives, their rivalries, and deep friendships.
The first episode is subtitled "Wakana Tabata and Kinue Takehara / Kinue Takehara and Ryoko Ueda" and focuses on the shy newcomer Wakana Tabata. Driven by her dream, she throws herself headlong into the strict boarding school life at the academy, but is quickly confronted with its harsh reality.
