The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Kanata Yanagino's light novel series The Faraway Paladin has announced that the second season will premiere in the fall of this year. Along with this news, the website also revealed the first promotional video, main staff, main cast, and teaser visual for the upcoming season, which is titled The Faraway Paladin: The King of the Iron Rust Mountain.

Shōya Chiba will voice the adult version of Will, while Maki Kawase reprises her role as the voice of young Will. Other returning cast members include Ayumu Murase as Menel, Eri Suzuki as Robina Goodfellow (Bee), Koji Yusa as Tonio, Kenji Nomura as Reystov, Minoru Inaba as Bart Bagley, Atsushi Tamaru as Ethelbald, Aoi Yūki as Gracefeel, Katsuyuki Konishi as Blood, Yui Horie as Mary, and Nobuo Tobita as Gus.

Akira Iwanaga serves as the new director for the second season, working with OLM and Sunrise Beyond. Tatsuya Takahashi continues to handle the series scripts, while Tatsuya Arai joins Koji Haneda as character designer. Ryuuichi Takada and Keigo Hoashi from MONACA return to compose the series' music.

The first season of The Faraway Paladin premiered in October 2021. The story follows a human child named Will, who is raised by three undead beings as he unravels the mysteries of his town and discovers his identity.
