Second Season of "Odekake Kozame" Begins on April 12 on Japanese Television

The second season of the anime adaptation of Penguin Box's manga "Odekake Kozame" (Little Shark's Outings) will premiere on April 12, 2026. As reported by the news service Anime News Network, citing an announcement from Kadokawa, the new season will air in the "Animori!" programming block on the TV Tokyo Network and will subsequently be streamed on the series' official YouTube channel.

A new voice actress, Karin Takahashi, joins the cast. She will voice the character "Kitsune-chan" (the little fox), as revealed in a recent main promotional video. This video features the fox alongside other familiar faces like Dobermann-san from the recently released film "Eiga Odekake Kozame: Tokai no Otomodachi." The footage shows the little shark lady Kozame-chan and her friends returning to Hachio City and embarking on new adventures. The hedgehog brother Mohikan Aniki is also back, cooking a hotpot for the group.

The voice actresses for the main characters expressed their excitement for the continuation. Karin Takahashi, the newcomer, is thrilled to be part of this heartwarming world and hopes viewers can find comfort through the series. Kozame-chan's voice actress, Kana Hanazawa, is overjoyed about the second season, as she had wished for a continuation of this "healing anime." Megumi Han (Anko-chan) and Misaki Kuno (Usame-chan) also eagerly anticipate the new everyday adventures and the further development of their roles.

Accompanying the series premiere, another event is planned: At AnimeJapan 2026, taking place from March 28 to 29 in Tokyo, there will be a character greeting event at the Kadokawa booth. Additionally, a stage presentation with voice actresses Kana Hanazawa, Megumi Han, and Misaki Kuno is scheduled. Visitors attending these events will receive exclusive pennants as gifts.

The first anime adaptation of the manga launched on YouTube in August 2023 and consisted of 60 episodes until May 2024. Penguin Box's manga has been serialized since June 2021, telling nostalgic everyday adventures of a young shark lady.

Director Chihiro Kumano returns for the second season, having also directed the first season and the film. The animation is once again produced by Studio ENGI. Hiroaki Nagashima is again writing the script, and Ayumi Takeuchi is again responsible for character design.

The second season is scheduled to air on the TV Tokyo Network every Sunday at 7:00 AM (local time) starting April 12, 2026. The YouTube episodes will be released at 7:05 AM each time.
