Second season of the anime love story "Dōse, Koi shite Shimau n da." announced

For the romantic anime series "Dōse, Koi shite Shimau n da." (approximately: "And anyway, I fall in love"), the production of a second season has been confirmed. A new main trailer as well as first details have been presented.

An extensive trailer for the continuation shows how the lives of the main characters have developed after the first season. Scenes are shown in which the protagonist Mizuho brings small attentions to Shin, who now works as a doctor, or in which the former girlfriend Ai confronts Shūgo, who has become a boss, about his lack of contact. The clip also gives a first look at the return of the long-absent Kizuki.

At the same time, the theme song for the new season was revealed. The opening song "L to R" is performed by the music group ME:I, a part of which can be heard in the trailer.

The series, based on a manga by Haruka Mitsui, is a youth love story. It follows the protagonist Mizuho and her four closest childhood friends – Kizuki, Shin, Ai, and Shūgo – through the emotional turmoil of growing up and falling in love.

The first season ended with Kizuki, who had grown up and left the circle of friends, surprisingly reappearing at the airport. The second season will pick up this storyline and shows the characters three years later. The trailer hints that Kizuki returns for a special occasion – a summer fireworks display – and states he came to meet Mizuho.

The second season of "Dōse, Koi shite Shimau n da." is scheduled for a release in January 2026.
