The production of a second television season of the anime series "Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen" (international title: Yozakura Family) has been officially confirmed. The continuation of the series is scheduled to start in April 2026. Simultaneously, the first key visual as well as details about the opening theme were released.

The series is based on the manga series of the same name by author Hitsuji Gondaira, which has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since 2019. The story revolves around Taiyō Asano, who marries into the traditional spy family Yozakura. At the side of his wife Mutsumi, the current family head, and her numerous siblings, he experiences a turbulent family life full of comedic and action-packed entanglements.

The plot of the second season will focus on Taiyō having to take the demanding "Silver Rank Spy Examination". This step is taken on the instruction of the first family head, who appeared to him in a dream, and is intended to enable contact with a key figure named Hika. In parallel, the previously inactive family father, Hyakuyō, will actively intervene in the events for the first time. The released key visual shows the entire Yozakura family in their car against a backdrop of fully blooming cherry trees.

The musical accompaniment for the title sequence of the new season will be provided by the song "What's “KAZOKU”?" by the idol group Sakurazaka46. This is the group's first anime song. In a statement, the members stated that with the song, which deals with the theme of "family", they want to build a bridge between the series and the audience. The first season of the anime adaptation aired in spring 2024. The production of the second season will once again be handled by studio SILVER LINK. under the direction of Itsuro Kawasaki.
