The second season of the anime adaptation „Tokidoki Bosotto Roshiago de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san“ („Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian“) has been officially confirmed. The continuation is set to air in 2026, with specific premiere dates still pending. The announcement was made on July 3, 2025, exactly one year after the debut of the first season. A first teaser image shows Masachika Kuse and Alisa Mikhailovna Kujō („Alya“) in a relaxed atmosphere, highlighting their further-developed relationship.

Original author Sunsun SUN thanked the fans for their support and emphasized that new scenes in the second season are largely based on his own ideas. He highlighted the close collaboration with the production team to avoid misunderstandings regarding „anime-original content.“ Kōhei Amasaki (voice of Masachika) expressed his delight about the continuation and promised to continue working on his role with full dedication. Sumire Uesaka (voice of Alya) shared her excitement about getting to voice the character again and thanked the fans in Russian.

The light novel series (KADOKAWA Sneaker Bunko) has sold over 5.5 million copies worldwide. It centers on Alya, who expresses her feelings for classmate Masachika in Russian, unaware that he understands the language.

The proven team returns for the production of the second season: Doga Kobo handles the animation, Hiroshi Haraguchi directs, Yūhei Murota is in charge of character design, and the series composition is once again by Yuka Yamada.
