A third promotional video has been released for the start of the second season of the anime adaptation of Kōcha Agasawa's romantic comedy series "Seihantai na Kimi to Boku" (English title: "You and I Are Polar Opposites"). The clip not only offers new insights into the story but also confirms the ending song for the new episodes.

The ending track is titled "Unmei no kimi" and comes from singer-songwriter Mega Shinnosuke. In a statement, the artist explained: "I read the source material with joy and thought long about the right sound. After discussions with the production team, I decided on a rock number meant to support the protagonists during their exciting school days. Please listen to it loud!"

The video shows the main characters in their third year of high school, changing as exam preparations begin. The relationship between Suzuki and Tani is depicted with a melancholic touch. The budding feelings between Higashi and Taira, which are shaken by a careless remark, are also thematically addressed. The editing is aligned with the driving ending song and emphasizes the interplay between closeness and distance.

The second season starts on July 5, 2026, on Japanese television. It will air on Sundays at 5:00 PM on the MBS/TBS network (28 stations nationwide). Half an hour later, episodes will be available on ABEMA and Prime Video as a simulcast.

The series is once again produced by Studio Lapin Track under the direction of Takakazu Nagatomo. The series concept and animation production are handled by Teruko Utsumi. Character design is by Mako Miyako, and the music is composed by tofubeats. The main roles are voiced by top-tier voice actors: Sayumi Suzushiro plays Suzuki, Shōgo Sakata portrays Tani, Yuna Taniguchi lends her voice to Watanabe, and other roles are taken on by Kohana Hiratsubayashi, Anji Iwata, Miyuri Shimabukuro, Wataru Katō, Kokoro Ōmori, and Tomori Kusunoki.

The original manga series ran from 2022 to 2024 on the Shōnen Jump+ platform and has received numerous awards, including the Manga Taishō 2024 (7th place) and the Digital Comic Awards 2024. The total print run of the volumes now exceeds 2.1 million copies. The first season of the anime adaptation aired from January to March 2026.
