Hobby Japan revealed that Yuri Kitayama and Riv's light novel Seirei Gensouki - Spirit Chronicles has inspired a TV anime.
Osamu Yamasaki (Toward the Terra, ItaKiss, Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom) is directing the anime at TMS Entertainment in collaboration with Wao World. Yamasaki is also writing the scripts alongside Mitsutaka Hirota, Megumu Sasano, and Yoshiko Nakamura. Kyoko Yufu is designing the characters.
J-Novel Club publishes both the novels and the manga adaptation by Futago Minaduki and describes the story:
Meet Rio: a detached, orphaned boy living in the slums. At just 7 years old, he realizes he is actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. While still reeling from this shocking revelation, Rio also discovers he possesses extremely strong magical abilities and uses his newfound powers to solve the kidnapping case of a little girl. His good deed is recognized, and he is rewarded by being admitted to a prestigious academy for noble children...?
