The anime series Seishun Buta Yarō has expanded with the release of a new film titled "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out." The film got off to a strong start.

In the first three days after its release, "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out" grossed a total of 175,648,924 yen, equivalent to approximately 1.28 million US dollars. With this performance, the film ranked fourth in the box office charts during its opening weekend.

The film is part of a continuation project adapting the eighth and ninth novels of the Seishun Buta Yarō series. The second film in this project is titled "Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid."

Director Sōichi Masui leads the project at CloverWorks, while Masahiro Yokotani is responsible for composition and screenplays. Satomi Tamura contributes by reprising her role as character designer. The film's theme song is a rendition of "Fukashigi no Karte" (Mysterious Chart), sung by the character Kaede Azusagawa, voiced by Yurika Kubo.
