Sekigan no Flashback - Detective Conan Film receives song from King Gnu

For the new Detective Conan movie "Sekigan no Flashback – One-Eyed Memories," based on a story by Gosho Aoyama, the band King Gnu presented their song "TWILIGHT!!!" as the musical theme song. Alongside this announcement, an official trailer was released, offering glimpses into several scenes from the film.

At the start of the released video, police officer Kansuke Yamato is seen chasing a suspect across a snowy mountain landscape before losing his eye. The following scenes show Kansuke getting injured and caught in an avalanche, as well as a tense encounter between Conan and Amuro. Later in the video, accompanied by the song "TWILIGHT!!!," glimpses include Ran Mori in a fight scene and Takaaki Morofushi sinking underwater. The trailer ends emotionally with a moment where Kansuke’s distinctive cane is left behind in the snow while Yui Uehara desperately calls his name.

The producers of the film adaptation, Hide Kondō, Takeshi Yoshida, and Yūhei Okada, explained their choice of King Gnu by stating that the band’s multifaceted musical qualities would effectively emphasize the emotionally profound criminal case surrounding Kogoro Mori and the Nagano police unit. Daiki Tsuneta, a member of King Gnu, remarked that due to the creative freedom granted by the production team, the resulting musical work significantly differs from the band’s previous songs and explores new artistic directions.
