In October, the anime series Shabake, based on the novels by Hatanaka Megumi, will celebrate its premiere. With a first visual and a detailed introductory video, fans now get a taste of the atmospheric adaptation. At the same time, details about the voice cast were announced.

The story is set in historical Edo and revolves around Ichitarō, a sickly young man who solves mysterious crimes with the help of supernatural beings. The central motif shows Ichitarō together with his two companions Ninkichi and Sasuke, while the introductory video presents freshly animated scenes featuring this trio. The video is accompanied by the opening theme "Inochi no Parēdo" (Parade of Life) by the group Kujira.

In the voice cast, Okino Kōji takes on the role of Ninkichi and describes the investigations surrounding the mysterious cases as particularly exciting. Yashiro Taku, who voices Sasuke, is thrilled by the animated adaptation of the original novel.

Additionally, the series' official online portal has been revamped and now offers detailed information about the characters. A special highlight for fans: On August 23, the first four episodes will be previewed in Tokyo as part of an exclusive event. Registration for the event is open from June 22 to July 22.

Kaburaki Hiroko is in charge of direction, and the series is produced by Studio Zero-G. Kawashima Nana serves as art director, while Yoshioka Tomoki handles the music.
