As announced after the season one finale, there will be a sequel to Shaman King. The upcoming sequel will follow Anna's son, Hana Asakura. The brand new anime that started in 2021 reached its final episode today, April 21st. The anime adapts all 35 volumes of the new complete edition of the original manga.

The format of the sequel has not yet been confirmed. The anime Shaman King is based on the manga of the same name by Hiroyuki Takei, which began in Weekly Shounen Jump in 1998 and ended abruptly in 2004 after 32 volumes. The first anime adaptation of the work comes from Studio XEBEC.

Takei drew a two-volume prequel titled Shaman King Zero from 2011 to 2014 and the sequel Shaman King: Flowers between 2012 and 2014 in Jump X.
