Shangri-La Frontier Anime Release Date and Trailer Revealed

Shangri-La Frontier, an upcoming anime series based on the manga Shangri-La Frontier: Kusoge Hunter, Kamige ni Nidoman tosu ~ published by Kadokawa, has released a 30-second trailer and a key visual. The anime is set to air in October in Japan and will also be available on Crunchyroll. The series follows a player named Rakuro Hizutome, who specializes in playing low-quality VR games but finds himself in a highly popular game called Shangri-La Frontier.



The anime is directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu as the composer and scriptwriter of the series, and Ayumi Kurashima as the character designer and animation director. The voice cast includes Yuuma Uchida, Azumi Waki, Youko Hikasa, Makoto Koichi, Rina Hidaka, and Akio Ootsuka.

The Shangri-La Frontier manga began in 2020 and will have 11 volumes by December 2022. The story originated as a web novel by Katarina, which was serialized on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2017. A game developed by Netmarble Nexus is also in the works.
