Shangri-La Frontier - Episode 2

The episode begins with Sunraku (Rakuro Hizutome) arriving in the starting town of Firstia. He quickly notices a player with high-level gear and wonders what they’re doing in a beginner’s area. Sunraku then heads into the Untamed Forest, where he battles the area boss, the Ravenpython. Although he initially underestimates the boss and gets poisoned, Sunraku manages to defeat it by targeting its weak spot.

Due to the poison, Sunraku rushes back to town and is guided by a player named Reiji, who helps him find the inn to register his respawn point. Sunraku barely manages to register the point before succumbing to the poison. He’s relieved that he didn’t lose any items and is grateful to Reiji.

Sunraku moves on to the town of Secondale, where he decides to upgrade his equipment. He learns that weapons can be crafted from materials and sets off for the Diremarsh to mine ores. Despite the challenging environment and encounters with mud frogs, Sunraku gathers enough materials for a new weapon. Back in town, he commissions a pair of Marsh Daggers, which perfectly suit his playstyle.

During his stay in Secondale, Sunraku also learns about the concept of "upgrading" weapons through enhancements, a service offered by blacksmith NPCs. Fascinated by the game’s advanced AI, he decides to set out at night despite warnings about dangerous monsters. His choice proves risky but thrilling as he battles a unique monster named Lycagon, the Night Slayer. The episode ends with Sunraku realizing the true depth and challenge of Shangri-La Frontier and looking forward to what lies ahead.
