In the VR game "Shangli-La Frontier," high school student Rakuro Hizutome, known in-game as Sunraku, continues his pursuit of the story's progression by acquiring a magical operation unit and transforming his companion Bilac into an ancient craftsman. Together with Emul, Bilac, and the powerful Aramiys, Sunraku reaches a new area—the "Ruins of Bygone Glory," remnants of a civilization from the Age of the Gods.
While exploring the ruins, they encounter various golems, starting with a slow-moving worker golem that Aramiys effortlessly defeats. However, this victory is short-lived, as they soon face tougher adversaries, including a massive golem that produces explosive orb golems. Sunraku recognizes the threat and devises a strategy to attack the large golem while Aramiys and Emul handle the smaller ones.
Using their unique abilities, Sunraku and Bilac infiltrate the core of the giant golem. Sunraku wields his newly upgraded weapon, the Flame General Decapitator, to breach the golem's defenses, while Bilac deals critical damage with "Material Destruction." Upon defeat, the golem self-destructs, but the team narrowly escapes the explosion. They obtain items, including idols with special properties, such as the "Blasting Earth" idol and the "Sword Denier" idol.
Sunraku reflects on the battle and decides to focus on dual blades to further enhance his skills.
