On the official website for the manga and in the magazine Shonen Gahosha, an anime adaptation of the Shin Ikkitousen sequel was announced. The anime series is set to air on AT-X in 2022.

Yuji Shiozaki launched the original manga Ikkitousen (Battle Vixens) in April 2000 in Monthly Comic Gum before switching to its web version in May 2015 after the magazine ceased publication. The manga ended with 24 volumes in August of the same year. The first TV anime by J.C.Staff aired in 13 episodes in the summer of 2003. Arms produced the second and third seasons in the winter of 2007 and summer of 2008.
