Shin no Nakama S2 - Episode 5

In the fifth episode of "Shin no Nakama" Season 2, Ruti and Tisse pay a nighttime visit to Red and Rit, revealing Cardinal Ljubo's search for the Demon Lord's airship. Red expresses his indifference toward the church's intentions regarding the airship and is prepared to intervene if necessary. At the same time, a story emerges about the "Masked Knight Escarlata," who defeated Astra of the Water, one of the Demon Lord's generals.

Red wants to keep the secret of Ruti's renunciation of the Hero's Blessing and helps her and Tisse establish a thriving herb business by offering to be their first customer and mentor. During a hospital visit to Danan, Red is challenged to a sparring match, prompting him to train hard to avoid humiliation, even though he expects to lose due to Danan's innate combat skills.

A training camp is organized, featuring Red, Rit, Yarandrala, Ruti, Tisse, and Danan, promising productive training and good food. During the training, Danan suspects that Escarlata is Theodora in disguise.

Red does not see his upcoming duel with Danan as a fight for victory but as an opportunity to convey his lifestyle and beliefs through combat.

Although Red loses, he achieves his goal of earning Danan's respect for his life choices, demonstrating a different form of strength. Ruti defeats Danan in a display of familial loyalty. Upon their return, Albert delivers the unsettling news that a new hero, Van of Flamberge, may be on his way to Zoltan accompanied by Theodora. The episode ends with a grim portrayal of Van's merciless nature.
