Shoot! Goal to the Future TV Anime Reveals July 2022 Launch in New Trailer

The main cast, staff, and a teaser promotional video have been revealed on the official website of the Shoot! Goal to the Future TV anime. The anime is scheduled to air in July 2022.



The anime is an original sequel to Tsukasa Ooshima's sports manga series Shoot!, which was serialized in Weekly Shounen Magazine from August 1990 to September 1996. The first Shoot! TV anime aired from November 7, 1993, to December 25, 1994, spanning 58 episodes and was produced by Toei Animation.

At the beginning of the video, the words "Do you like soccer?" appear on screen, and Kubo, the former captain of Kakegawa High School's soccer team, is seen attacking the opposing team with his excellent ball-handling skills.

The cast includes:

- Chiaki Kobayashi as Hideto Tsuji

- Shunichi Toki as Subaru Kurokawa

- Yūki Ono as Jō Kazama

- Shimba Tsuchiya as Kōhei Kokubo

- Yuichiro Umehara as Atsushi Kamiya

- Kousuke Toriumi as Yoshiharu Kubo

The official website describes the series' story as follows:

Atsushi Kamiya, the former captain of Kakegawa High School and the world-famous "courageous captain" of a renowned Italian soccer team...

And Hideto Tsuji, a student at Kakegawa High School who seems to have no interest in the now-weakened soccer team...

Their encounter marks the beginning of a new legend...
