The story "Mr. War - The Strongest Former Soldier" (original title: Mr. War -Saikyô no Moto Gunjin-), published on the vertical manga platform Piccoma, is receiving a short anime adaptation. It has been available on the streaming platform DMM TV since March 17, 2026.
The plot of the original work by Hajime Tange (story) and Piro (art) revolves around George, an elite soldier of a special unit who, due to his exceptional combat abilities, bears the nickname "Mr. War." After being brought down on a battlefield due to a betrayal by his own comrades, he is reborn as Michio—a slave laborer in a slum called "Garbage Dump Island." From this oppressed position, he fights his way up using his intellect and combat techniques.
In the anime adaptation, Tetsuya Kawakata voices the main role of Michio. Additional voice roles are performed by Sumika Suko as Sofia, Yobito Ikawa as Masa, Miyuki Sakurai as Kyō, Akira Miki as Kyō's mother, Yūta Suminaga as Zeha, Naoyuki Shimozuru as Kusagagi, Kazuo Yoshida as Akechi, Hayato Toriumi as Ishizuka, and Fumiya Oguma as the narrator and in the role of George Sai.
The production of the short anime is handled by Studio Fever Creations under the direction of Ryōsuke Aoike. The script and series composition are by Akiyoshi Shinagawa and Tōru Muramatsu. Sound recording and casting are handled by G-angle, while haon was responsible for MA and sound effects.
