The episode begins with Teru Momijiyama and Iko Koishikawa spending a day off together. They are accompanied by Teru's AI, Mr. Shrimpy. Iko's leg has miraculously healed, which she attributes to a side effect of the mysterious black ring. The girls enjoy their day, but Teru feels uncomfortable due to her introverted nature. They take a break, and Iko praises Teru for her courage and kindness, unaware that she is the hero Shy.

Suddenly, they encounter a little boy who has gotten lost. With the help of Shrimpy-san, they quickly find his parents. Iko and Teru share a moment where they realize that kindness is universal, whether one is a hero or not.

Teru receives a call from Spirit, another hero, informing her that she and Iko have been summoned to a space station overseen by Unilord, the guardian of Earth's heroes. They meet Unilord and Spirit, and the topic shifts to the mysterious boy known as "Stigma" and the black rings he uses to manipulate people's emotions. These rings pose a major problem for the heroes.

Stardust, a famous hero, joins them. Unilord proposes a duel between Stardust and Shy to test Shy's fighting spirit. The rules are simple: if Teru's transformation is undone or she can no longer continue, she loses and must cease being a hero. However, if she manages to land even a single blow on Stardust's face, she wins.

The episode ends with the coin toss signaling the start of the duel.
