Shy TV announces its premiere for 2023
The anime adaptation of Bukimi Miki's manga SHY will premiere in 2023, according to the official website. Voice actress Shino Shimoji (Aikatsu!, Hakumei and Mikochi) will play the main character Teru Momijiyama, also known as Shy. The series is directed by Masaomi Andō (Astra Lost in Space, Scum's Wish, School-Live!) and produced by Studio 8-Bit (Blue Lock, Encouragement of Climb).
SHY is a manga series that first appeared as a one-shot in Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in January 2017 and has been serialized in the same magazine since August 2019. The first volume of the manga was released in December 2019. The 18th volume was published on Wednesday by Akita Shoten.
Yen Press has released the English version of the series, and the synopsis states that the world was saved from a Third World War after people with superpowers emerged. The Japanese heroine is a shy girl named Shy, who is more preoccupied with her own insecurities than fighting villains, but still has the heart of a hero.
