The manga franchise "Kingdom" is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the return of a special fan project. As publisher Shueisha announced, the "Social Kingdom" project is being revived after 14 years. Titled "Social Kingdom: Re-ignited," the campaign will launch on March 19, 2026, on a dedicated website.

In this project, readers and well-known artists are invited to redraw individual panels from the manga. The original campaign in 2012 brought together 1,153 participants to completely redraw the entire 26th volume, setting a Guinness World Record.

The new edition is significantly more extensive: Author Yasuhisa Hara personally selected 20 "legendary chapters" from volumes 1 to 78 that are particularly dear to him. A total of 2,289 panels await reinterpretation by the participants—roughly twice as many as the first time.

An impressive lineup of guest artists is participating in the campaign. Among the 20 prominent names are Hirohiko Araki ("JoJo's Bizarre Adventure"), Takehiko Inoue ("Slam Dunk"), Yoshikazu Yasuhiko ("Mobile Suit Gundam"), and Katsuya Terada. The list also includes manga artists like Sui Ishida, Masanori Morita, and Kengo Hanazawa, as well as personalities from the entertainment industry, including comedians Cookie, Ryota Yamazato, and members of the duo Kamaitachi.

Interested readers can select a free panel from the website starting on the launch date, draw their version, and upload it. The selection of panels will be released gradually: Beginning March 19, five new chapters will be unlocked for editing every few days. Various prizes await participants: Everyone whose drawing is published will receive a commemorative booklet containing the 20 chapters. Additionally, Hara will award the "Yasuhisa Hara Prize" for particularly successful panels, and the online community can vote for their favorites, who will win an acrylic charm.

Author Yasuhisa Hara emphasizes the fun of the campaign and addresses fans with an encouraging message: "It doesn't matter at all whether you can draw well or not. Awkward drawings, creepy images, glittery or cool motifs—everything is welcome," Hara is quoted in the announcement. "I hope everyone enjoys drawing their panels, and together we create a 'Kingdom' that exists only here!"
