Official character visuals of the main figures have been released for the upcoming second season of the anime series "Sousou no Frieren" (engl. "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End"). The pictures show the protagonist Frieren as well as her companions Fern, Stark, Heiter, Eisen, and Himmel.
The visuals present two characteristic group constellations: On the one hand, the current traveling quartet around the elven mage Frieren with her pupil Fern and the warrior Stark. On the other hand, the legendary hero group from times past is depicted, consisting of the hero Himmel, the priest Heiter, the warrior Eisen, and Frieren herself.
The second season of the adapted fantasy series is expected to be released in January 2026 and will continue the story from chapter 61 of the source material. The narrative accompanies the emotional journey of the immortal elf Frieren, who, after the death of her human companions, reflects on their legacy and the meaning of human existence.
The award-winning manga source material by Yamada Kanehito and Abe Tsukasa was first animated from September 2023 to March 2024 and became internationally one of the celebrated anime highlights of recent years.
