Special music video connects Gnosia with Ling Tosite Sigure

A newly released video showcases a special connection between the anime series Gnosia and the rock band Ling Tosite Sigure. The clip presents a special edit of the song Loo% Who%, which serves as the series' first ending theme. This newly mixed version, recently heard in an episode of the series, was personally created by TK, the band's vocalist and guitarist. The video's visual design aims to expand upon the unique atmosphere of the series and the song.

The track Loo% Who% is the first ending theme for the Gnosia anime and was composed and recorded specifically for it by Ling Tosite Sigure. The song accompanies episodes 2 through 7 as well as a later episode of the series. The production was carried out in close collaboration with the anime production team. They desired a song that would transition like an opening theme into the next episode, as each episode ends with a turning point. The band realized this by creating a song that starts with the feeling of a new beginning but ends in a mood of unease and unresolved emotions.

The lyrics were written to evoke a feeling of confusion and losing oneself in the listener. The title Loo% Who% itself alludes to the central time-loop theme of the plot and is meant to raise the question of how much of one's true self remains after many repetitions.

The TV series Gnosia is an adaptation of the social deduction role-playing game of the same name by Petit Depotto. The story takes place aboard the drifting spaceship D.Q.O., whose crew is plagued by the mysterious threat of the Gnosia. These beings disguise themselves as humans and gradually eliminate the crew. The amnesiac protagonist Yuri finds himself in a repeating time loop where he must identify the hidden Gnosia to break the cycle.

The anime adaptation celebrated its debut and was realized by a team including director Kazuya Ichikawa and series composer Jukki Hanada.

The collaboration for the ending theme came about at the explicit request of producer Toru Kawakatsu, who is a fan of Ling Tosite Sigure. Producer Yoshitaka Kimura, who also considered the band an ideal fit, conveyed extensive material about the series and his vision for the song. The band was inspired by this passion and the unusually open, cooperative working process. Vocalist TK was so taken with the project that he specifically acquired a console to play the original Gnosia game.

The video highlights the successful synthesis of Gnosia's dark, spiral-shaped narrative and Ling Tosite Sigure's distinctive, emotionally charged sound. It shows how music and visual storytelling can work together to deepen the core ideas of a work.
