Square Enix announced a new media project for Deep Insanity, which includes an ongoing manga, a game, and a TV anime titled Deep Insanity: The Lost Child, set to premiere this October.

The story originates from the work of Norimitsu Kaiho (series composition for Akudama Drive, Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka) and Makoto Fukami (Berserk, PSYCHO-PASS), and the manga—titled Deep Insanity: Nirvana, which already began in February—is drawn by artist Etorouji Shiono.

Square Enix's website describes the manga's plot as follows:

One day, a massive hole called Asylum is discovered in Antarctica. At the same time, a mysterious disease begins spreading worldwide. The illness, Randolph Syndrome, causes those infected to fall into a coma. Many countries send teams to investigate the disease, but none of them return.

Serge Sol, a boy immune to the disease, and Hildegard Olympiada Yamada, a jack-of-all-trades, coincidentally end up in the hole together. They must try to uncover the cause of the mysterious illness, but what exactly is happening in the depths of Asylum?
