The two popular anime series “Witch Hat Atelier” (Japanese: “Tongari Boushi no Atelier”) and “Ascendance of a Bookworm – The Story of a Bookworm – The Lord’s Adopted Daughter” (Japanese: “Honzuki no Gekokujou – Ryoushu no Youjo”) have released a joint promotional video. The collaboration PV premiered at “Anime Expo 2026” in Los Angeles, held from July 2 to 5, and was published on the official channels of both productions.

In the roughly one-minute clip, the protagonists Coco (from “Witch Hat Atelier”) and Rozemyne (from “Ascendance of a Bookworm”) are shown, both of whom had to leave their families for different reasons and are finding their way in a new environment. Both girls harbor a deep passion—Coco for magic, Rozemyne for books—and bravely face the obstacles that come their way. The PV highlights the thematic parallels of the two stories: the desire for knowledge and overcoming fateful blows.

The collaboration between the two works is not the first of its kind. As early as June 2026, a specially created collaboration visual was released, featuring Coco and Rozemyne alongside their companions Qifrey and Ferdinand. At the same time, an extensive interview between the two creators—Kamome Shirahama (“Witch Hat Atelier”) and Miya Kazuki (“Ascendance of a Bookworm”)—was published, in which they discuss their mutual appreciation, the creation of the stories, and the challenges of the anime adaptation.

Both anime series have achieved great success in recent weeks. “Witch Hat Atelier” concluded its first season on June 29 with the 13th episode and immediately announced the production of a second season. The series is produced by Studio BUG FILMS and directed by Ayumu Watanabe (“Summer Time Rendering”). “Ascendance of a Bookworm – The Lord’s Adopted Daughter” is currently airing on Japanese television and will start its second cour (the second half of the season) on July 11. The adaptation of the award-winning book series, which has sold over 13 million copies worldwide, is being produced by WIT STUDIO.

The collaboration is part of a larger campaign that includes a special promotion for Blu-ray boxes of both series. Fans can look forward to more joint content.
