Solo Leveling, written by Chugong and illustrated by the late artist DUBU (REDICE Studio), is set in a world where mysterious "gates" have connected our dimension with another, granting some people supernatural powers. These individuals, called "Hunters," use their abilities to conquer the dungeons within the gates. The story follows Jinwoo Sung, a low-ranking Hunter known as the "weakest Hunter of humanity," who, after a near-death experience, discovers a mysterious quest window that allows him to rise to unprecedented heights.

The anime adaptation, announced during Crunchyroll's panel at Anime Expo in July 2022, boasts an impressive team. Shunsuke Nakashige directs at A-1 Pictures, while Noboru Kimura serves as head writer. Tomoko Sudo is responsible for character design, and Hiroyuki Sawano, known for his work on Attack on Titan and Kill la Kill, composes the music. Crunchyroll will stream the anime outside Asia.

The manhwa adaptation of Solo Leveling, which ran from March 2018 to December 2021, has garnered a dedicated fanbase. Yen Press publishes the manhwa and original novel series in English, while Kadokawa releases the manhwa in Japanese under the title Ore Dake Level-Up na Ken, with the 11th volume set to release on March 23.
