A popular light novel series is receiving an adaptation as an anime television series. The announcement was made as part of GA FES 2026.

The series bears the full Japanese title "Bōkensha Raisensu o Hakudatsu Sareta Ossan da Kedo, Ai Musume ga Dekita no de Nonbiri Jinsei o Oka Suru". It is based on the light novels by author Manimani Ononata with illustrations by Fuzichoco, published under the GA Novel imprint by SB Creative. The story was originally published as a web novel on "Shōsetsuka ni Narō".

The plot revolves around Douglas Ford, a formerly legendary magician known in his prime as a powerful reinforcement mage. After losing strength due to age, his adventurer's license is eventually revoked, and he wanders aimlessly. During his travels, he meets a girl named Rabi who suffers under a curse. The two join forces and decide to walk their path together from then on. The experiences on their journey and overcoming tasks gradually create a deep bond between them, akin to a father-daughter relationship.

The franchise has reached a total circulation of over 2.2 million copies across its various publication formats. Parallel to the light novel series, a manga adaptation is being published, drawn by Fumi Tadaura and released on Square Enix's platform "Manga UP!".

For the announcement of the anime adaptation, a first visual teaser and the official logo were released. The original author Manimani Ononata and the character designer Fuzichoco expressed their gratitude to the fans and commented on their joy regarding the upcoming adaptation.
