"Tensakisen no Seiso Karen na Bishōjo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osananajimi datta Ken" receives anime adaptation

The light novel series "Tensakisen no Seiso Karen na Bishōjo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osananajimi datta Ken" (English: The Case of the Pure and Cute Beauty at My New School Being My Childhood Friend I Thought Was a Boy) by Hibari Yu will receive an anime adaptation in the year 2026. The main role of Haruki Nikaido will be voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa.

The plot of the romantic comedy follows Hayato Kiritoma, who transfers from the countryside to an urban school. There, he meets his former companion Haruki again after seven years, whom he had mistaken for a boy in their childhood. To his surprise, she has now grown into an elegant and charming young woman.

The published teaser visual shows the main character Haruki surrounded by sunflowers on a rural path. The author revealed in a comment that the rural setting was inspired by a specific region in Nara that he had visited while working on the original source material.

The light novel series has been published since August 2023 and currently comprises nine volumes. A manga adaptation by Kinana Yamayama is published in the magazine Dora Dora Furauto with seven collected volumes.
