For the upcoming continuation of the anime adaptation of Yousuke Kokuzuu's work, a main visual as well as an extensive trailer have now been released. Additionally, the production team revealed two new voice actors: Shoutarou Morikubo as Jiriel and Mitsuru Miyamoto as a mysterious priest.
The story follows Lloyd, a formerly ordinary magician who, after his rebirth as the seventh prince of a powerful kingdom, freely unleashes his magical abilities. The second season continues this journey and promises mysterious conflicts, as hinted by the newly unveiled visual: In front of the silhouette of a church, Lloyd and his companions stand, accompanied by a enigmatic figure with a mocking smile and a winged creature in the background. The dark atmosphere suggests impending confrontations.
Jiriel, voiced by Morikubo, serves as an apostle of the "64 Heavenly Gods" and wields holy magic, using it to defeat enemies with powerful light attacks. Miyamoto portrays a priest active in the church who, despite decades of devotion to his faith, occasionally forgets even essential ritual items—a quirk that unintentionally makes him appear comical.
Morikubo described his work on the project as "fully pushing the limits of my vocal capabilities," while Miyamoto admitted his astonishment at the unconventional direction: "When I saw the footage, I wondered: What genre is this series actually pursuing?"
The animation is once again produced by Studio J.C.Staff, with Kōjin Ochi as director. Further updates on the season are expected to follow soon.
