The popular light novel series "Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta" (Reincarnated as a Dragon’s Egg) by author Nekoko is receiving an anime adaptation. In celebration of this news, a first key visual as well as the main voice actors have been revealed.
The story follows a young man named Irushia, who awakens in a fantasy world after his death—however, not as a human, but in the form of a dragon’s egg. From now on, he must overcome numerous dangers, as defeating powerful enemies is necessary for his evolution. Along the way, he battles not only dangerous creatures but also struggles against being hunted by humans who see him as a monster.
The main voice cast includes Koutaro Nishiyama as the protagonist, Aimi Koshimizu as the mysterious narrator ("Voice of God"), and Miku Itō as Milia, a girl who becomes entangled in the events surrounding a young dragon.
The release of an accompanying key visual depicts Irushia’s first dramatic moment: the protagonist powerfully bursting out of his dragon egg, symbolizing the beginning of his arduous adventure.
The series will also be further showcased at the upcoming AnimeJapan 2025, where voice actor commentaries and additional details will be presented.
