TV anime series Tensei Shitara Ken deshita (Reincarnated as a Sword), based on the action-fantasy light novel by Yuu Tanaka, has got its first promotional video. The anime will be released in October. Personal details were also announced.



The main cast includes:

- Shin'ichiro Miki as Shisho ("Master")
- Ai Kakuma as Fran

The series is directed by Shinji Ishihira at Studio C2C. Series composition by Takahiro Nagano, character design and main animation direction by Atsuki Saito, and music by Yasuharu Takanashi).

GC Novels began publishing the novel in light novel format in 2016, which currently has 12 volumes. A manga adaptation by Tomowo Maruyama has also been in the works since 2016 and currently has 10 volumes. A spin-off manga titled Reincarnated as a Sword: Another Wish was released on the Comic Ride website in June 2020.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the light novel, manga and spin-off manga and describes the plot as follows:

When a 30-year-old employee and game enthusiast suddenly dies in a car accident, he is reborn in a fantasy world...albeit in the form of a sword! Now he's looking for a beautiful woman who can wield a sword, and a cat girl named Fran could be just the right partner for his adventures.
