Tensei shitara Ken Deshita will start in fall 2022

The TV anime series Tensei Shitara Ken deshita (Reincarnated as a Sword), based on the action-fantasy light novel by Yuu Tanaka, has received its first promo video. The anime will be released in October. The staff has also been announced.



The main cast includes:

- Shin'ichiro Miki as Shisho ("Master")

- Ai Kakuma as Fran

The series is directed by Shinji Ishihira at Studio C2C. The series composition is handled by Takahiro Nagano, the character design and chief animation direction by Atsuki Saito, and the music by Yasuharu Takanashi.

GC Novels began publishing the novel in light novel format in 2016, which currently spans 12 volumes. A manga adaptation by Tomowo Maruyama has also been in the works since 2016 and currently consists of 10 volumes. A spin-off manga titled Reincarnated as a Sword: Another Wish was released in June 2020 on the Comic Ride website.

Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the light novel, manga, and spin-off manga, describing the plot as follows:

When a 30-year-old office worker and gaming enthusiast suddenly dies in a car accident, he is reincarnated in a fantasy world... but in the form of a sword! Now, he searches for a beautiful woman to wield the sword, and a catgirl named Fran might just be the perfect partner for his adventures.
