The TV anime series "Tetsunabe no Jan!" (Japanese: "鉄鍋のジャン!") has received its official start date. According to a recent announcement, the adaptation of Shinji Saijyo's cult manga will begin airing on July 5, 2026. The series will then air every Sunday at 5:30 PM on TV Tokyo and five other stations in the TV Tokyo network.

Ahead of the premiere, new details about the cast have been released. Accordingly, the following voice actors will lend their voices to the newly introduced characters: M・A・O voices Céline Yang, a chef seeking to combine traditional Chinese cuisine with French influences. Masuo Amada will be heard as Nittō Otani, a feared restaurant critic with an extraordinary palate who becomes the protagonist's greatest rival. Takahiro Sakurai voices Kei Sawada, a chef who relies on fire and high temperatures, while Taishi Murata takes on the role of Xun Zhixiu, the heir to a Chinese restaurant over 400 years old who upholds tradition. Yūsuke Kobayashi completes the ensemble as Yūji Kawahara, a chef who trusts in science and state-of-the-art equipment.

A new main trailer, titled the "Omote Version," has also been released—a "Ura Version" is expected to follow at a later date. The trailer offers first glimpses into the anime adaptation and its characters. The opening theme song has been announced as "Kaen," performed by the Japanese boy band "Genin wa Jibun ni Aru."

Alongside the announcements, initial comments from Masuo Amada and Ryōta Nagano, a member of the band, have been shared. Amada describes his character Otani as a "terrible guy" whom he plays with great dedication. Nagano explains that the song captures the speed and the blend of logic and madness of the series. Additionally, a campaign is running on the anime's official X account (formerly Twitter) until May 31, where a signed poster with a Chinese character by Masuo Amada will be raffled off.

"Tetsunabe no Jan!" revolves around the eccentric chef Jan Akiyama, for whom cooking is pure competition, and his fierce culinary duels. Directed by Ei Aoki, the series is being produced at animation studio TROYCA.
