In episode 22 of the third season, Rimuru finds himself in a financial crisis after organizing an impulsive festival without proper budget planning. King Gazel of Dwargon immediately offers assistance in the form of 1,500 gold coins, but more funds are needed. Queen Elmesia of the Sorcerous Dynasty of Thalion arrives and offers the remainder in exchange for future cooperation and invitations to upcoming festivals. Rimuru accepts the offer and forms an alliance with two major powers.

During their meeting, Elmesia asks Rimuru about Diablo, his powerful subordinate who is an archdemon. Rimuru assures her that he has Diablo under control, and both Gazel and Elmesia acknowledge his capabilities. They ally themselves with Rimuru's nation, the Jura Tempest Federation.

Meanwhile, the final battle of the tournament begins between Gobta and the hero Masayuki. Gobta attempts to fuse with Ranga using a new ability but fails and is knocked out in the process. Masayuki, unwilling to win under these circumstances and afraid of challenging a demon lord, forfeits the match. The crowd interprets his actions as noble and praises him for it.

Gobta is declared the winner and appointed as a member of Rimuru's Elite Four. Milim decides to train Gobta and Ranga intensively in the labyrinth. Later, Rimuru invites Masayuki to lunch and discovers that he, too, is from Japan. The two bond over their shared experience, and Rimuru asks Masayuki to serve as the flagbearer for the labyrinth challenge, promising him safety and support. Masayuki agrees, relieved to find camaraderie and a place where he feels comfortable.
