Through Maomao's analysis, it becomes clear that the "ghost" is caused by natural phenomena: steam from rotting floorboards moves curtains, and a special "magic mirror" (an ancient bronze mirror with engravings) projects the face of Lishu's deceased mother under moonlight. The emotionally charged Lishu misinterprets this as the ghost of her mother.

In parallel, it is revealed that Lishu's former head court lady systematically humiliated her by stealing her personal belongings. Jinshi uses this to expose the court lady and strengthen Lishu's authority. At the same time, the episode addresses the arrival of new eunuchs—former foreign slaves—whose integration into the palace is carefully monitored. A handsome, scarred eunuch with a paralyzed left side stands out and arouses curiosity.

In the background, Jinshi plans to reveal his true identity as Ka Zuigetsu (the Emperor's brother) to Maomao, while the political threat posed by the unpredictable Grand Commander Kan Lakan looms. The episode ends with Xiaolan's blunder of dropping ice blocks meant for a high-ranking consort.
