At the same time, Shin receives a scroll from Lihua with instructions for the caravan trade but delegates the task to another maidservant. Shortly after, a message from the palace clinic reaches her, and she sets off. Meanwhile, Maomao and Xiaolan observe a festival from a distance and discuss the hygiene standards in the palace. Later, Maomao encounters Gyokuyou, who is reflecting on whether she spent too much money on clothing at the festival. When Gaoshun visits Jinshi later that night, he brings disturbing news: a woman named Lady Jin has died of poisoning. As the palace continues searching for answers, the episode ends with Hongniang silently handing Gyokuyou a drink—a moment of calm, yet with the certainty that new dangers lurk.
