The Beginning After the End - Episode 5: The King's Test

Arthur and Tessia reach Elenoir but are met by suspicious guards who want to arrest Arthur as an intruder. Virion Eralith, Tessia's grandfather and former king, intervenes and orders Arthur's release. In the process, Tessia's identity as the princess of Elenoir is revealed. Arthur is taken to the castle, where he recounts to King Alduin and Queen Merial how he rescued Tessia from slave traders. Parental concern and the historical conflict between elves and humans create tension, but Tessia insists on protecting Arthur.

Arthur requests help to return to Sapin but learns that the teleportation portal will not reopen for another five years. Alduin instead offers an escort, but Arthur's sudden mana core pains raise questions. In a private conversation, Virion reveals that Arthur carries a "Beast Will" within him, which can prove fatal without training. To test him, Virion provokes a fight, where Arthur demonstrates tactical strength despite being outmatched.

Virion finally offers to take Arthur as his apprentice—not just for survival but to master his abilities. Tessia supports Arthur emotionally as he battles inner doubts about whether his family will still want him after the separation. The episode ends with Virion's urgent warning: "If you do not learn, you will die."
