In Episode 12, Yorishige prays for Tokiyuki's safe return to Suwa, while Kiyohara's troops, led by Yonemaru, pursue Tokiyuki and Kojiro. To weaken the enemy, Fubuki devises a strategy of dividing their forces. Genba uses his transformation ability to disguise himself as Yonemaru and lure his subordinates into a trap on a mountain peak.

Meanwhile, Kojiro plans a raid to prevent the abduction of Hoshina's women and children. Although he initially loses in a duel against the real Yonemaru, Kojiro is motivated by Tokiyuki's trust in him. With the support of Hoshina's men, he seizes the opportunity to defeat Yonemaru.

Kiyohara, confused by the fog, orders Sukefusa to redirect the main army toward the vulnerable civilians, disregarding the risk. Fubuki confronts Kiyohara but decides against killing him, believing it more advantageous to let him live. When Kiyohara notices another army approaching, he orders a retreat.

As the enemy withdraws, Tokiyuki and his allies escape unharmed. Kojiro reflects on the battle and honors Yonemaru by leaving his head intact out of respect. Although Hoshina loses his territory, he finds solace in the safety and smiles of his people.

The narrator notes that Hoshina will continue to rule a small region in Shinano and support Tokiyuki's future endeavors. Before setting off for the Grand Shrine of Suwa, Hoshina pledges the loyalty of his men to Yorishige and the spirit Myojin. The season ends with Tokiyuki and his friends riding into the sunset, ready for the challenges ahead.
