In Episode 6, Genba and Tokiyuki narrowly escape an ambush by Sadamune's men by covering their retreat with smoke. They hide in a nearby forest, where Tokiyuki saves Genba from an attack, solidifying their uneasy alliance. Sadamune tracks them down with the help of Sukefusa's keen hearing, but Genba skillfully disrupts Sukefusa's abilities and deceives Sadamune, making him believe the imperial command has been destroyed.

As tensions rise, Genba reunites with Ayano and Kojiro while Tokiyuki, injured during the escape, lies unconscious. Genba pressures Tokiyuki to fulfill his promise of power, underscoring the conditional nature of his loyalty.

Meanwhile, Sadamune, frustrated by Genba's tactics, realizes that the Suwa territory remains secure under the emperor's decree, while Yorishige advises Tokiyuki to study Takauji's unpredictable nature. This leads to a violent confrontation led by Prince Moriyoshi, revealing Takauji's ruthless cunning, which leaves Moriyoshi distrustful and fearful.

The episode ends with Tokiyuki's resolve to confront Takauji, while Ayano informs him of new troubles with Genba.
