The episode begins with Fable greeting Misaki's boss and Kainuma at work. When Misaki arrives, she awkwardly greets Fable and tells her boss that she is feeling better. Later, Fable tells Yoko about this encounter and speculates whether Misaki might have figured out his true identity as the man who saved her at the factory. Fable expresses concern that Misaki might see him as an amateur if she learns about his past as a hitman.

The scene shifts to Matsu and Sunagawa. Sunagawa confirms Kojima's death and tries to bribe Matsu with 2 million yen for information about Fable. Matsu refuses and warns Sunagawa not to interfere in Fable's affairs. He adds that if Sunagawa ever becomes the new leader of the Maguro Group, Fable's group will meet with him.

Fable visits a knife shop and buys a Blackhawk knife. Meanwhile, Kuro visits Yoko and reveals that he knows Fable's identity and wants to become his apprentice. Yoko suggests that Kuro persuade Fable to take him on an upcoming camping trip to the woods.

Kuro approaches Fable in the garage with gifts and asks to accompany him. Fable clarifies that he isn't going camping but plans to spend time in the mountains and eventually agrees to take Kuro along, though he warns him not to leave any trash behind.

Fable confronts Yoko for encouraging Kuro, but Yoko assures him that Kuro will likely give up soon. Yoko informs Fable about a package from Fable Two and serves him a meal, which Fable refuses while it's still hot. He explains that his sensitive palate was trained during previous mountain trips to detect poison.

The narrative shifts to Kainuma, who looks at compromising photos of Misaki and questions her ties to the yakuza as well as Fable's true identity. He considers planting hidden cameras in Misaki's apartment again.

Fable receives a call from Takeshi, who has just been discharged from the hospital. Takeshi mentions a meeting with Fable Two and asks about Fable's plans after his one-year break. Fable confirms that he intends to resume his career as a hitman.

The episode ends with Yoko driving Fable and Kuro to their destination in the mountains. Fable helps Kuro decide what to bring and points out their differing approaches to the trip. They head into the wilderness, with Fable asking Yoko to return in three days to pick him up.
