“The Fire Hunter” announces second season with new images and trailer

The anime adaptation of the fantasy novel "The Fire Hunter" by Rieko Hinata has released its key visual and a teaser trailer for the upcoming second season. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has lost the concept of fire. It follows the challenging lives of an 11-year-old girl named Tomoko and a 15-year-old boy named Koshi as they face various hardships.

The new key visual features both Tomoko and Koshi, accompanied by the words "Yet, I still want to touch this world." The teaser video offers a first glimpse of the second season's content.

The second season, set to air and stream starting January 2024, will once again be directed by Junji Nishimura, with Mamoru Oshii handling composition and scriptwriting. Misaki Kuno will reprise her role as the voice of Tomoko, while Shoya Ishige returns as Koshi. Additionally, veteran voice actors such as Maaya Sakamoto, Yoshimasa Hosoya, and Saori Hayami will also be featured.
