The Japanese publisher Kadokawa has today opened the official website for the anime adaptation of Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou, Murabito A ni Tensei suru (The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody), featuring the staff and a teaser image (see image). The anime series is scheduled for release in 2022.
Mirai Minato is directing the anime for studios SILVER LINK and BLADE. Takayuki Noguchi is adapting the character designs by Sao Mizuno for animation.
Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English and describes the story as follows:
In his previous life, he was known as the Demon Lord Varvatos, an all-powerful magic user and ruler. But he was lonely, having lost his friends and loved ones during his rise to power, and so in his final moments, Varvatos cast a reincarnation spell to get a second chance at being an ordinary person. At first, it seems to be working—he is reborn thousands of years later as the villager Ard. Unfortunately, his memories remain intact, and he is unaware of how much he has lost in the time he did not exist, and it looks like this might cost him his normal life.
