"The Irregular at Magic High School": New Film Trailer Reveals LiSA as Title Song Performer

A new main trailer has been released for the upcoming film "The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc" (original title: "Gekijōban Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Yotsuba Keishō-hen"). At the same time, the third key visual for the film has been unveiled. It depicts the main characters Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba in an intimate pose, accompanied by the telling phrase: "Now the truth about the 'Strongest' will be revealed."

The trailer also confirms that the film's title song is titled "YES," performed by singer LiSA. For LiSA, this marks the third collaboration with the anime series, following "Rising Hope" (first season) and "Shouted Serenade" (third season). In a comment, she explained: "For the third time, I get to sing a title song for this series. We have followed and captured the messages of the story together so far—now it continues. The continuation of the story will be seen in theaters this spring, as the deep snow melts. I sang this song as if shouting out emotions that were trapped beneath a layer of ice. I hope you enjoy it together with the film."

The film's plot picks up after the events of the previous seasons. It centers on the invitation to the "Keishunkai," a New Year's reception held by the powerful Yotsuba family, where the succession of the family head is to be determined. The announcement of this ceremony shakes the relationship between Tatsuya and Miyuki.

On April 28, a preview screening of the film will be held in Tokyo with voice actress Saori Hayami (Miyuki Shiba) and director Jimmy Stone in attendance. The film opens in Japanese theaters on May 8. For the first four weeks after its release, attendees will receive one of four novels as an admission gift, each specially written by author Tsutomu Satō for the film screenings.
