The Mightiest Magician in the Demon King's Army is a Human" is being adapted as a TV anime

The dark fantasy novel "The Mightiest Magician in the Demon King's Army is a Human" by Ryo Haneda, which was adapted into a manga by Anajiro, is set to receive a TV anime adaptation in 2024. Key details, including the main cast, teaser images, and a promotional teaser video featuring the characters' voices, have already been released.

In the anime, the protagonist Ike, a human raised among demons who hides his true identity, fights in the Demon King's army for the coexistence of demons and humans. Jun Fukuyama voices Ike, the human serving in the Demon King's army and leading the Brigade of the Immortals while striving to minimize human casualties.

Additional cast members include Hinata Tachibana as Sati, Ike's former slave turned servant, and Shizuka Ito as Sefiro, Ike's superior and commander of the Demon King's Seventh Legion. Other roles feature Mainaka Ishimi as the Demon King Dairokuten and Azumi Waki as the succubus Lilith, who adores Ike.

The animation is produced by Studio A-CAT under the direction of Norihiko Nagahama, with series composition by Doko Matsumaru, character designs by Masami Sueoka, and music by KOHTA YAMAMOTO. The teaser shows Ike alone in the Demon King's castle, his human face reflected on the floor. Fukuyama's voice as Ike can be heard in the video.

Original author Haneda expressed excitement about the anime adaptation, especially after seeing the video. Anajiro and KUMA, responsible for the manga adaptation and original character design respectively, contributed commemorative illustrations for the anime announcement.
