The first trailer for the second season of the anime The Misfit of Demon King Academy was revealed during the Aniplex Online Fest. This anime adaptation of Shū's light novels by Studio Silver Link will premiere in January 2023.

Shū began publishing the novels on the website Shōsetsu ni Narō in April 2017. Kadokawa publishes the light novel in print with illustrations by Yoshinori Shizuma and has already released around 10 volumes in the Japanese market.
