The New Gate - Episode 1

In the opening scenes of "The New Gate," a new VR-MMORPG is introduced, promising unprecedented freedom in a virtual world thanks to advanced technology. Players can choose from seven unique species for their avatar, including elves and humans, and engage in various activities such as monster battles, trading, and weapon forging.

The protagonist, Shin, finds himself trapped in a dark version of the game where death is permanent, as players cannot log out and dying in the game means dying in real life. Despite the grim circumstances, Shin continues to fight to clear the game. Eventually, he faces a final boss called Origin the Gatekeeper, whom he defeats, causing the dungeon to open and allowing the players to log out.

After confirming that all players have logged out, Shin attempts to leave the game himself but discovers anomalies in his logout process. Although he believes he has completed the game, Shin finds himself in a terrifyingly realistic world. He explores the new environment and realizes that his stats have significantly improved due to defeating the final boss.

He encounters Tiera Lucent, who mistakes him for an acquaintance of her master. Tiera, a black-haired elf, reveals that she is under a curse that brings her misfortune, and Shin uses his abilities to partially lift the curse. The episode ends with Shin preparing to further explore the new, seemingly real world. Along the way, he encounters a stronger skeleton monster, which he defeats, sending its sword flying into the distance with his attack.
