As announced on the official website, the anime series Naruto will celebrate its 20th anniversary with four "brand-new" episodes airing in September. The Naruto anime first aired on television in October 2002. To celebrate the anniversary, earlier episodes of the Naruto anime will be re-aired in Japan starting in July. The Naruto franchise includes several TV anime series, anime films, and original video anime. The sequel manga Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, released in May 2016 by Ukyō Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto, will be published monthly in Shueisha's V Jump magazine starting in July 2019 and was taken over by Masashi Kishimoto as writer in November 2020. The TV anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations premiered in April 2017, and the first part will end on March 26. Production of a second part has been given the green light.
