The Rising of the Shield Hero S4 - Episode 2

In Episode 2, Naofumi continues his journey in Siltvelt, where he and his companions are initially confronted with overwhelming, but increasingly suspicious hospitality. The plot thickens around political intrigues, as it becomes clear that the country's leadership is trying to keep Naofumi in the country, instead of providing him with a ship for the onward journey to Q'ten Lo as promised. Werner, a high-ranking representative, deliberately delays the departure through apparent politeness and never-ending formal procedures.

Meanwhile, the shady Jaralis reveals his own ambitions and offers Naofumi his support, which arouses distrust. These tensions escalate when an ally named Ethan Fohl and Atla warn that Jaralis may be involved in the death of their father. Naofumi, who trusts no one, begins to devise his own plans. The situation comes to a head when a poisoning attempt is uncovered at a banquet. Naofumi skillfully uses the incident to let the power struggles between the factions break out openly and thus create an opportunity to finally leave the country.
