“The Unwanted Undead” starts in January 2024, artists of the title music introduced

The upcoming anime series "The Unwanted Undead" is expected to premiere in January 2024. The first promo clip for the anime, as well as the artists for the opening and ending theme songs, have now been revealed. The announcement was made during the "10th Anniversary Memorial Festival! Overlap Bunko All-Star Gathering SP."



The music artist JUVENILE will compose the opening theme song titled "IMMORTAL," adding a new dimension to his existing repertoire, which has so far focused on composing songs for other artists. This marks the first time JUVENILE will lend his own voice to a piece. The ending theme song for the series will be composed by Mao Abe, with the title of the song to be announced at a later date.

On December 9, a special screening of the first two episodes will take place at the Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinema in Tokyo. Ryota Suzuki as Rent Faina, Mikako Komatsu as Lorraine Vivie, and Ikumi Hasegawa as Sheila Ivars will attend this event. Tickets for this screening can now be reserved.

"The Unwanted Undead" is a dark fantasy story that begins with the protagonist Rent losing his life in a labyrinth and awakening as the weakest monster in the world—a skeleton. The original light novels by Yu Okano have been released up to Volume 12 and are published by Overlap. A manga adaptation with illustrations by Heidi Nakazone is currently being serialized on the manga website Comic Guard.
