Third season of "Mashle: Magic and Muscles" announced with new character design

The production of a third season of the anime series "Mashle: Magic and Muscles" (Japanese original title: Mashle) has been officially confirmed. The continuation with the subtitle "Tri-Magic-Athalon Divine Visionary Final Exam Arc" (Japanese: San Tai Sou Shinkakusha Saishuu Shiken Hen) is scheduled to be released in 2027.

The announcement was made as part of "Jump Festa 2026", where, in addition to the release date, a first teaser trailer and an official key visual were presented. The published image shows the protagonist Mash Burnedead with a dumbbell in his hand, while the number "3" shines next to him.

The series is based on the completed manga by Hajime Kōmoto and tells the story of Mash Burnedead, a boy who, in a world where magic determines social status, possesses no magical abilities himself

. Instead, he compensates for this with superhuman physical strength. At the prestigious Easton Magic Academy, he tries to prove himself and achieve the highest goal, becoming a "Divine Visionary". The third season will focus on the final exam arc, in which Mash and his friends must face the last and decisive challenges.

There is a personnel change for the visual design of the new season. The role of character designer is taken over by Chiaki Furuzumi, known for the sub-character designs in "Solo Leveling". She thus replaces Hisashi Higashijima from the previous seasons. Other key positions in the production team at Studio A-1 Pictures, however, remain filled. Tomoya Tanaka continues to direct, Yōsuke Kuroda is responsible for the series composition, and Masaru Yokoyama once again composes the music.

The main characters of the series will also be portrayed by their established voice actors in the third season. Chiaki Kobayashi continues to voice the protagonist Mash Burnedead. At his side are Reiji Kawashima as Finn Ames and Kaito Ishikawa as Lance Crown. Other familiar voices such as Reina Ueda (Lemon Irvine) and Takuya Eguchi (Dot Barrett) are also confirmed to return.

The first season of the anime adaptation aired in April 2023, the second season followed in January 2024. The underlying manga has reached a worldwide total circulation of over 12 million copies.
